Microsoft LifeCam VX Driver Update for Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, XP.

I removed the vx software, then restarted the system, re-installed the software again, got the same error message, but then went to compatability mode, this time instead of clicking windows 7 compatibility I just selected "I don't Know, the system started with WinXP, I hit test, and to my amazement it worked.

I recorded a movie, sound everything was there, however when I did the audio only, nothing, no sound. So just for fun I ran compatibility again, selected vista.. At least I've gotten this far.

So I don't know what the problem is however it appears that windows 10, compatibility mode, selecting all previous windows programs, somehow triggers something from those programs to get it working, I upgraded from win7, however at first it worked in windows xp, and then windows8 compat. My camera is on now and working fine, except for audio record. Try this it might work for you. Stupid to put out a new operating system that doesn't support it's product. I just discovered that when I went out of the LifeCam program after recording audio or pics or movie, and go into LifeCam files, I click right click any audio or vid file, open with VLC, and the file plays, both audio and movie file, so this is how I've got it working so far.

Hey - sorry but the above link is inoperable - all that appears is the "Compatibility Assistant" which states "This app can't run on this PC - I have tried all compatibility "options". I had the same issue, at some point microsoft is /23953.txt to block lifecam3. Fortunately I was able to extract vx drivers from an older windows 10 install. My webcam is working again on a fresh windows 10 v install. Here are my extracted files, download the zip and extract it.

Note there's no installer to run here. Go to Device Manager, right click on your webcam and click update driver software, select the 2nd option Browse My Здесь. These of course do not work correctly or I would not have browsed and followed this thread.

That's interesting, it sounds like some kind of driver is already loaded for your webcam. In that case I would right click and uninstall it first. At this point updating driver should work.

After upgrading, I downloaded version 3. Of course I got the unsupported error. I was able to install in compatability mode for Windows 7 successfully. Then I installed the latest Skype which was no problem.
